A list

I have a problem accepting modern pop couture as valuable, interesting,  or worthwhile. If most people like it I tend to recoil in disdain.  I know I am biased, but there is a lot of popular crap out there.  People who get so excited about celebrities or reality TV or subpar literature... irk me.  They seem so unoriginal, so doltish, and desperate.

But here I am reacting to them, like some dark petulant child, who dyes her hair green to be different, without ever realizing she is acting the same as all the other “different” people.  Everyone is a joke, I do see that, but I digress.  

Here is a list of pop culture things I will never do and I am proud of it even if that makes me the same as all the different people out there.

1.       I will never watch Titanic

2.       I will never read 50 shades of Grey

3.       I will never watch the Harry Potter Trilogies

4.       I will never go on a booze cruise

5.       I will never ask a celebrity for their autograph

6.       I will never watch a reality show about housewives

7.       I will never pay a weeks’ salary for an a accessory (eg: a belt, hat, pocketbook) or an article of clothing

8.       I will never play golf seriously

9.       I will never take a wine class

10.     I will never refer to myself as a foodie
